02/16/2010 - Quick-Med Technologies Expands NIMBUS® License for Derma Sciences' BIOGUARD™ Wound Dressings
Gainesville, Florida - February 16, 2010 - Quick-Med Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: QMDT) announced today that it has amended its Patent and Technology License Agreement with Derma Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSCI) to grant Derma Sciences rights to use NIMBUS® technology in an expanded range of wound dressings formats marketed by Derma Sciences under its BIOGUARD™ trademark. The amendment also adjusts minimum royalties, provides terms for Derma Sciences entering into a private-label contract, and extends the term of the License for an additional three years subject to Derma Sciences meeting certain milestones and performance requirements. |

(OTCBB: DSCI), has reported that an independent laboratory has found that BIOGUARD™ barrier gauze dressings with Quick-Med’s novel NIMBUS antimicrobial technology exhibit high antiviral efficacy against the H1N1 virus. This new information increases the applicability of the dressings, which have already been shown to have high efficacy against virulent bacteria such as MRSA. |

QMDT) announced today that the Food and Drug Administration has issued Guidance to
support the classification of the Company's NIMBUS® barrier gauze wound dressings as
Class II medical devices. This novel wound dressing received its initial market clearance
on February 25, 2009 via FDA's De Novo review process, a special clearance program
for medical devices that are found to be "not substantially equivalent" to any predicate

What do jock itch, poison gas and flesh-eating bacteria have in common? Gregory Schultz, 56, thinks he has the answer. The cancer researcher turned inventor has patented a technique for chemically bonding bacteria-fighting polymers to such fabrics as gauze bandages, cotton T shirts and men's underpants. It's a technology with an unusually wide variety of uses, from underwear that doesn't stink to hospital dressings that thwart infections.
