Technology

Quick-Med Technologies invents, optimizes, patents, and productionizes novel antimicrobial technologies with good antimicrobial stewardship practices. The technologies are sustainable with non-toxic degradation products, and provide durable broad spectrum efficacy without generating resistant organisms.

Nimbus

Nimbus is currently being used in bound form to a gauze substrate as a wound dressing. Due to its patented manufacturing process, the active component within the Nimbus Barrier Dressings is intrinsically bound to the substrate and is therefore nontoxic. In addition, due to the active components’ relatively large size, and also due to the non-leaching attribute of the dressing, bacteria can not develop resistance to Nimbus dressings. This is a vital benefit of a dressing being considered for prophylactic widespread usage. Nimbus is the only non-leaching antimicrobial wound dressing material on the market. Our lab's analysis indicated that rinsing of the gauze does not result in a degradation of Nimbus' integrity. Nimbus wound dressing technology received FDA approval as a De Novo innovation in 2007 (FDA K060662 / DEN 070002).

Stay Fresh

Quick-Med Technologies uses the trademarks Stay Fresh and Oxi-Tex to denote its sequestered hydrogen peroxide-based antimicrobial technology. These products kill bacteria in a way that does not result in antimicrobial resistance, or in carcinogenicity or other health effects in humans. Stay Fresh optimized treatments appear as invisible and do not alter the texture of the surface. Peroxide is toxic to bacteria but not humans in production quantities, and the degradation products of peroxide are water and oxygen, mitigating the risk of environmental or ecological disruption from widespread use of antimicrobials. Stay Fresh is highly durable and also regenerable, allowing for cost savings and proven continued efficacy.

Superabsorbent Antimicrobial Materials

Superabsorbent antimicrobials absorb fluid, eliminate bacteria, yeast, and other harmful microorganisms, and prevent odor. This technology uses biocompatible materials that are proven safe for contact and even ingestion in production quantities. Quick-Med Technologies' superabsorbent antimicrobial materials are powered by hydrogen peroxide. Products using this technology significantly reduce the risk infection and disease and are antiseptic. This technology is ideal for feminine care and incontinence care. Reusable or increased-durability applications facilitate cost savings and help lessen disruption.
